Summer Reading

Oceans of Possibility

The Teen Summer Reading Program runs from June through Labor Day.

Get a chance to win prizes for completing summer activities! We want you to get out and read--and also explore!

This year, your goal is to earn points. You get one point for each day that you log reading. You can earn additional points for doing different activities throughout the summer.

Each 25 points you earn gives you tickets to put into grand prize drawings, and your first 25 points gets you a free book. If you read at least 20 days during a calendar month, you'll also be entered into a monthly drawing.

Sign up now on Beanstack!

If you're 11 or 12, you'll also have the choice to do the Kids Summer Reading Program. If you're 18 or 19, you can also choose to do the Adult Summer Reading Program.

For signing up, you get a nerdy sticker. Stop in at the Marshall library after June 1st to pick it up.

When reach 25 points, you can choose a free book!

If you earn 25 points during a calendar month, you'll get an entry into the monthly drawing. For those, you can choose between a YA novel (signed by the author, while stock lasts) or a Marshall Chamber gift check. Marshall Chamber Gift Checks are like gift cards for a bunch of Marshall businesses, including Coldstone, Bagels & Brew, and the Friends of the Library Book Store. You can learn more about them and look through a list of businesses here. Keep in mind that, unlike gift cards, you have to use the full balance at one time. You won't get change and you can't save some for later. The checks we give you will be in $5 increments.

You get tickets to put into grand prize drawings every time you earn 25 points, plus extra tickets for earning 25 points during a calendar month! Reading more days and doing more activities means more tickets to put into drawings.

You can choose to put your tickets in any of three grand prize drawings this year.
