Bringing the Library to YOU
The Marshall-Lyon County Library is excited to announce the implementation of its new Community Outreach Program—Reader’s Café To Go.
Who? Individuals who are unable to get to the library may be eligible for homebound delivery service. You do not need to be permanently homebound to be eligible.
What? Working with library staff to determine reading interests, each person may receive a variety of materials for up to one month check-out. The number and types of materials, delivery schedules and other requests are discussed as part of the registration process.
When? Volunteers deliver checked-out materials on an agreed-upon day.
Cost? Because of volunteer assistance, this is a free service for residents of Lyon County!
Contact 507-537-5638, or fill out and return the registration form to get started.
Sponsored in part by the Friends of the Marshall-Lyon County Library.
Who? Residents of nursing homes, senior living facilities, retirement centers and other residential facilities.
What? A Deposit Collection is a set of materials selected by library staff and checked out to the organization for one month at a time.
How? A registration profile is created, which includes how many items the organization would like to receive, as well as print type and material format. The organization provides shelving for the materials and manages checkout to individuals and their return; containers are provided for ease of delivery and collecting materials to be returned. Requests for specific materials are welcome! Please allow at least one week notice before next delivery date.
