The story of “Gar” (Gargantua), who is born out of the sky, of the West, the Buffalo and native spirit and is adopted by French-Indians at Little Rock Trading Post of Joseph Laframboise along the Minnesota River near New Ulm and Fort Ridgely.

Through the telling of Buffalo Man’s life, Amato shows how much Minnesota, by life, discover, adventures and trade, belonged to rivers and river valleys.
