Alice Hamilton Goes to Harvard
April 16, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Professor of History Joan Gittens will present “Alice Hamilton goes to Harvard: a centenary tribute.” In 1919, Harvard University broke its centuries-long tradition and appointed a woman, Dr. Alice Hamilton, to the faculty of Harvard Medical School. She took the appointment but brought her social justice convictions with her.
This lecture is a repeat session of the lecture presented on Wednesday, March 27th at noon in SMSU’s Whipple Gallery. Both events are free and open to the public. A map of SMSU’s facility can be found here: http://www.smsu.edu/map/index.html.
